ECI Bypoll Election Results 2024 Live Updates: The political arena is filled with anticipation as the counting of votes for the by-election to 48 assembly seats and two parliamentary seats in 15 states began at 8 AM on Saturday, November 23.

While an intense poll battle over the reclamation of the seat has been witnessed among the key political parties, including BJP, Congress and other regional players, the clear picture of who has claimed victory will only be stated after the by-election results are announced by the election commission.

The Uttar Pradesh by-polls results are significant for the BJP and Samajwadi Party as both parties are aiming to set the narrative for the 2027 assembly elections. The ruling BJP faced a major setback in the Lok Sabha polls, eyeing to make a comeback in the by-elections.

Initially, the poll panel announced that voting for 47 assembly segments and the Wayanad Lok Sabha seat will be held in the first phase, on November 13, and the remaining Kedarnath assembly seat and the Nanded Lok Sabha seat will go for polling on November 20.

Later, the EC revised the poll schedule and rescheduled by-polls in 14 assembly constituencies across Kerala, Punjab, and Uttar Pradesh from November 13 to November 20.

CEC Rajiv Kumar, who was accompanied by Election Commissioners Gyanesh Kumar and Sukhbir Singh Sandhu, announced the dates for the by-polls after announcing the schedule for the Maharashtra and Jharkhand polls.

Notably, the by-polls across 15 states pose the first major electoral challenge for both the NDA and INDIA blocs since the Lok Sabha elections, given the wide reach and number of states involved in this election.
